The very musical and nearly inseperable roommates are practicing so that they can carol door to door for fun over the weekend.
Kylee Striplin practices playing the trombone by ear with the help of Timmy Beick on the piano. Both juniors at the University of Oregon, Striplin studies physics and Beick is a cinema studies major. Both have played in the Oregon Marching Band, but it’s Striplins first year playing trombone after playing flute in the band for two years.
Hannah Giardina adjusts sheet music. She used the rear window of a car to prop up the papers as the group practices one last time before caroling.
Having decided to go caroling door to door before they return home for winter break, the roommates gather together for an impromtu practice session. With the end of fall term fast-approaching, Jenny Horn, a senior at the University of Oregon, works on a final project for her computer science major.
Hannah Giardina and Jenny Horn make gluten-free cinnamon rolls. Giardina and another roommate, Harrison Allen-Sutter, are alergic to gluten. The cinnamon rolls are a part of “House Christmas,” wherein the roommates and University of Oregon students share breakfast and swap presents before leaving for winter break.
Dr. Eric WIltshire directs from a ladder pulled from his garage. The students surprised their band director by showing up on his doorstep to play Christmas carols.
